The Tooth Fairy

I would have never thought of posting about Tooth Fairies. However, the other day I was looking at a Flower Fairies book with Melany and Avena, when Avena took the book and started searching diligently through it. Finally she asked, "Grandma, where is the Tooth Fairy?" It is so delightful that children understand the magical side of life. So it is, I added the Tooth Fairy as part of this blog. I really hope that you do go into my favorite web sites. I only added good ones. The Tooth Fairy site is adorable for your little ones to enjoy. Just click on it over on the top right corner, take your little ones to this magical place, and enjoy.

Fairy Dreams

Fairy Dreams - Jeri Burt©2006

Daisy singing,
Daffodil swaying,
Faries pink and blue
wings glistening,
flying faster, faster.
Hide and seek
in Emerald Forest they play,
amusing butterflies,
while Lions gaze with watchful eyes.
Daisies petal beckons
a place for rest from
lover’s play.
“Good night!”
“Good night!”
Daisies petals crowded,
kicking, fighting,
“go away,
sleep on Daffodil I say.”
Stomping from her abode
Daffodil’s petal her place anew
appeasing the lover’squarrel.
At last the fairies slumber.
Grass blades harmonize
with crickets
an eloquent tune;
The fairies’s lullaby.

Peter Pan

The adventures of Peter Pan and Tinker Bell is such a delightful story; the story of fairy life and children never growing up. Has anyone read the book? I don't care if you are 99 or 5, everyone should Read the book. I know most of us have seen the movie but the book is amazingly more magical and fun. The movie is good but nothing like the book. I was amazed.

Faeries Love God

The other day I fell upon a story of a little girl who had just completed making a faery garden in a plant aquarium. Her mother looked at the completed creativity and noticed her daughter had made a path for the faeries, with beads, in the shape of a cross. The mother questioned her daughter as to why she had made a cross in a faery garden. The little girl sweetly answered, "Faeries love God too."

I'd Love to be a Fairy's Child

Before you read the poem below by Robert Graves, I believe you will have noticed that the word Fairy is spelled different than the way I've been spelling it. There are actually different ways to spell fairy, faery, faerie, fay, which are all correct ways to spell it. They all have historical roots, it just depends on how you desire to spell it.
Children born of fairy stock
Never need for shirt or frock,
Never want for food or fire,
Always get their hearts desire:
Jingle pockets full of gold,
Marry when their seven years old.
Every fairy child may keep
Two strong ponies and ten sheep;
All have houses, each their own,
Built of brick or granite stone;
They live on cherries, they run wild -
I'd love to be a fairy's child.

The Winter Child

I believe in the magic of books. The flash movie from this book, which is one of my favorites, will capture your heart and take you to a world of magic and adventure, never to be forgotten.

Toads

When we lived out on the farm in Colorado we loved listening to the toads sing their lullaby at night. The kids would tramp through the tall grass and stray wheat, during the sunlit hours of the day, looking diligently for those toads who sang so lovely to us each night. When the toads looked up at the children with wonder in their eyes, you know, with that mysterious gaze much different from any other little creature, and may even follow them around after they put them down, I reminded them to watch carefully for it is more than likely a faery in disguise.
