I'd Love to be a Fairy's Child

Before you read the poem below by Robert Graves, I believe you will have noticed that the word Fairy is spelled different than the way I've been spelling it. There are actually different ways to spell fairy, faery, faerie, fay, which are all correct ways to spell it. They all have historical roots, it just depends on how you desire to spell it.
Children born of fairy stock
Never need for shirt or frock,
Never want for food or fire,
Always get their hearts desire:
Jingle pockets full of gold,
Marry when their seven years old.
Every fairy child may keep
Two strong ponies and ten sheep;
All have houses, each their own,
Built of brick or granite stone;
They live on cherries, they run wild -
I'd love to be a fairy's child.

Robert Graves 1918
